The Justin Fields Debate Rages On After Second Pro Day

The Denver Broncos reportedly passed up on Justin Fields with the ninth overall pick in the NFL Draft because of his epilepsy

Justin Fields is turning into the most controversial player in the upcoming NFL Draft. The Ohio State product was considered a surefire top-five pick in the draft, until recently.

Now, some analysts (including Mel Kiper Jr.) have Fields dropping all the way to the 10th overall pick. While others maintain that the 49ers would be making a terrible mistake if they didn’t draft Fields with the #3 pick.

Through all the noise, Justin Fields had his second Pro Day today. He was extremely impressive, showing off his plus arm strength to go along with a unique ability to throw on the run.

While Fields continues to impress, many are still certain that Kyle Shanahan and the Niners have their eyes on Alabama’s Mac Jones with the #3 overall pick. Fans continue to be critical of that possibility.

Needless to say, the general consensus is that Justin Fields is the guy who the Niners should be zeroing in on with their pick in the draft. Every single measure points to him being a more successful quarterback in today’s NFL than Mac Jones.

We’ll see if San Francisco is legitimately serious about Mac Jones, or if they’re just putting up a smokescreen to play their cards close to the chest. We’ll find out in two weeks.
