The Baltimore Ravens Are Planning To Sign Dez Bryant To Their Practice Squad

With Antonio Brown to be free from suspension in just a couple of weeks, the AB signing rumors are heating up. However, the Baltimore Ravens have their sights set on another former NFL wide receiver. Dez Bryant. Bryant had a workout with the Ravens earlier this season but nothing has come of it until now. If things go well with Bryant’s workouts and he passes a physical, the Ravens plan to sign the veteran WR to their practice squad.

We haven’t seen Dez Bryant in full force on the field in almost three calendar years. The Saints signed Bryant to a one-year deal worth $600,000 after his release from the Cowboys, but he suffered a torn Achilles before stepping on the field with them. In 2017, Bryant played in 15 games for the Cowboys and caught 66 passes for 814 yards receiving and six touchdowns. That’s the last we have seen of Dez on the football field.

Dez Bryant is the Cowboys all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 73. And it looks like he is set to make his long-awaited return to the field. We all know Dez can play, but he is about to be 32 years old and hasn’t played a game in three years. It’s hard to know what to expect from Dez at this point in time. This is probably why the Ravens didn’t go ahead and pull the trigger when he worked out with them back in August.

The Ravens enter Week 7 with a 5-1 record. However, their offense ranks 26th overall and a measly 31st in passing. Lamar Jackson has been held to less than 200 yards passing in each of the last four games. We know that, if signed to the practice squad, Dez Bryant wouldn’t be making an immediate return to the field. But if he winds up being a good fit for the Ravens, he could be exactly what that offense needs.
