The 49ers Might Still Not Know Who They’re Drafting With The #3 Overall Pick

When speaking about the limited playing time for Brandon Aiyuk, Kyle Shanahan seemingly threw his star receiver under the bus

When the 49ers traded with the Miami Dolphins to acquire the #3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, they were making it clear that Jimmy Garoppolo was not the quarterback of their future. Now the question becomes, which QB will the Niners select?

Recently, it has been reported that San Francisco is keyed in on Alabama’s Mac Jones, but other speculation indicates they might be interested in Trey Lance.

Adam Schefter is now reporting that the Niners might still be undecided on who they’re taking tomorrow.

“As much as the 49ers love Mac Jones, and they do, I believe that the gap between Mac Jones and the other QBs like Trey Lance has been narrowed considerably … I can tell you over the weekend they did not know who they were going to take,” Schefter said on “Get Up” today.

I’m not sure if I’m really buying this report. Around this time, teams try to keep all of their information classified, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kyle Shanahan and the Niners’ brass is just setting up a smokescreen here.

I bet they have a pretty good idea who they’re going with tomorrow, they just don’t want anyone else to know who the guy is.
