Tragedy ensued following the thrilling upset win by Texas A&M over Alabama on Saturday.

When the Aggies defeated the #1 ranked Crimson Tide, fans from both teams were getting heated. And according to a report, one man lost his life due to an argument about the rivalry.

According to the report, two men were debating which team was better, the Aggies or the Crimson Tide, when things got deadly.

Per ESPN:

Two men started fighting over which team was better at a gathering in the Birmingham suburb of Bessemer when the game was in its final minutes Saturday night, Lt. Christian Clemons told news outlets. The homeowner asked the men to leave and shots were fired outside.

Officers found Kealand Amad Pickens, who had been shot several times in the torso, Clemons said. The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. Clemons said they know his identity, AL.com has reported, but the suspect is still at large.

Lt. Clemons said it best when speaking on the wholly unnecessary ending to a stupid fight about Texas A&M and Alabama.

“It’s just another case of resorting to violence to handle differences,” he said.

Despite the loss, Alabama will likely still have a path to the College Football Playoffs if they’re able to win out in their remaining games. And for Texas A&M, they’ll be lamenting that win for a long time to come.
