Texas A&M Coach Jimbo Fisher Says He Would Love To Play Ohio State

According to a report, Jimbo Fisher turned down a MASSIVE contract offer from LSU before the school turned their attention to Brian Kelly

Earlier in the week, it was announced that the game between Ohio State and Michigan would be canceled due to COVID in Michigan’s program. This could have serious ramifications for the Buckeyes.

The Big Ten had a rule in place before the season that teams would have to play at least six games to be considered for the Big Ten Championship. Ohio State only has five.

Fans were looking for a replacement team for Ohio State to play, and Texas A&M seemed to fit. A&M is currently ranked fifth in the country, and their game with Ole Miss has been canceled as well this weekend. So it makes sense that we could just have Ohio State play the Aggies this weekend, right Jimbo Fisher? Not so fast.

Fisher claims that he ‘would love’ to play Ohio State in a game, but it might be a little too last minute for him.

“But on a Wednesday? I think you’re being a little bit crazy with it because you know that from game preparation and to get the quality game you want I don’t think you would do it,” he said. “There’s a lot on the line. You’d want to be prepared. To play them? Yeah it doesn’t bother me to play them.”

Well, it was worth a shot. It’s looking like the Big Ten is going to change their six game minimum rule after all, and Ohio State will end up being eligible to play Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship. Maybe we’ll get to see Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies play Ohio State another year.
