Teddy Bridgewater is being laughed at online after he let Darius Slay run by for a scoop and score.

Here’s the set up; your team is down 7 at home late in the 3rd quarter and you’re going for it on 4th and 1 when your running back fumbles the ball. Philadelphia Eagles CB, Darius Slay, picks up the ball and starts to head towards you and the endzone. You’re the last guy back and he’s coming straight at you. What do you do?

I am guessing it’s something better than Teddy Bridgewater ended up doing. Bridgewater made a business decision and let Slay run by him without even attempting to put a hand on him. You can watch the whole play unfold below.

Embarrassing might be the right word, or just lack of judgement, maybe? But in the end, social media is having a good time laughing at Bridgewater’s expense.

I mean, the man deserves it. What I found even more enjoyable though was his ability to defend himself in his post-game interview where he says that he “thought he could force the ball back inside”. Ok Teddy, whatever you say big guy.

I mean who’s going to really blame the guy who almost had his leg amputated because of an injury in practice?

In the end of the day, Teddy knows he is one injury away from never seeing the field again. The man knew exactly what might happen if he went to tackle Slay who was coming at him with speed.

The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Denver Broncos 30-13. Teddy Bridgewater and the Broncos look to bounce enjoy a week off as they have his their bye week and return to action in two weeks at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.
