Golden State Warriors star point guard Steph Curry is set to play a familiar opponent in his former teammate Andre Iguodala. The veteran Iguodala is now suiting up for the Miami Heat. Leading up to the Heat’s matchup with the Warriors on Wednesday night, Steph is hoping that Iguodala has a memory block and forgets everything on the Warriors’ drawing board.

Steph admitted that Iguodala may be too intelligent to completely forget everything he learned as a part of the Warriors.

“I just hope he forgot all the plays. He might be too smart for that. It will be interesting seeing him in a different jersey, competing against him,” Curry said via Miami Herald.

Forgetting everything is a tough ask of Iguodala, who played on the Warriors from 2013 to 2019. Iguodala’s role with the Warriors was much larger than it is with the Miami Heat. However, having a veteran like Iguodala on your team can help in situations like this when playing old teams.

Iguodala isn’t nearly as productive as he was during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors. Having said that, it is safe to say he has cemented a role as a veteran presence on a young Miami Heat team.

Steph and the Warriors are favored against Iguodala and the struggling Heat team. They can only hope that the veteran Iguodala hasn’t shared too many of their secrets in preparation for Wednesday night’s game.
