Star New York Jets Player Wasn’t Happy When The Team Traded Sam Darnold

One of the biggest question marks of the NFL offseason was about what the New York Jets would do with quarterback Sam Darnold. Now, that question has been answered.

With the #2 overall pick in the upcoming draft in their pocket, the New York Jets have decided to move on from Darnold, trading him to the Carolina Panthers. It seemed like a good deal for both parties. The Jets will get to start from scratch with a new prospect (probably BYU’s Zach Wilson) under center, and Darnold will get a change of scenery.

However, one Jets player doesn’t sound all too happy about the deal. Safety Marcus Maye took to social media to share his displeasure with the team’s decision to move on from Sam Darnold.

Sometimes, all it takes is an emoji to get your message across. Marcus Maye has been with Sam Darnold through a lot of BS over the past few seasons, and it seemed like the young QB handled the locker room in a respectable way through it all.

He was also seen celebrating being traded to Carolina with a bunch of family and friends.

So, that says it all, doesn’t it? Sam Darnold is happy to get the hell out of New York, and Marcus Maye is sick and tired of the organization. Things aren’t exactly ideal for the Jets right now.

Maybe Robert Saleh can change the culture, and bring a winner to the Big Apple. But that’ll be a big ask.
