I’ll take “Things You Don’t Want To Say on the Internet” for $1,000, Alex.
In an ultimate career suicide move, a coach for St. John’s University’s fourth-ranked DI fencing program, Boris Vaksman, has been fired after a Zoom meeting from June 3 was leaked. In the virtual coaching session, Vaksman expresses that “Abe Lincoln made a mistake” and that the “majority of blacks steal, kill and do drugs.” Here’s the full video:

Wow, OK. Yeah, don’t say this. Best to just keep this shit to yourself, Mr. Vaksman.
The video was reportedly a youth coaching session with Fencer’s Club, an elite private fencing club located in Manhattan. Unsurprisingly, Vaksman was fired shortly after the video was posted online.
According to his Fencer’s Club bio, Vaksman moved to the U.S. in 1989 from Ukraine. While in Ukraine, he won four national championships, four Soviet Union championships and 56 medals in fencing. Vaksman was coach of the U.S. Junior National Team from 2005-2009 and has been a coach at St. John’s since 2009.
