Sports World Pays Tribute To Michael K. Williams Following Death

The sports world took to social media to react to the unexpected passing of "The Wire" actor Michael K. Williams, who was 54-years-old

On Monday, it was announced that popular actor, Michael K. Williams, had passed away at the age of 54.

After the incredibly sad news was announced, many friends, colleagues and fans swarmed social media to share thoughts on the incredible Michael K. Williams.

The sports world also reacted, with many high profile athletes giving their take on “The Wire” actor’s way-too-soon death.

Michael K. Williams was reportedly found in his Brooklyn apartment by a relative following a suspected drug overdose.

The highly respected actor was not only a big sports fan, but had worked with many former and current athletes in various ways.

Williams’ imprint on the Hollywood scene will forever be felt after his powerful roles in “The Wire”, as well as other popular appearances in “12 Years a Slave,” “Assassin’s Creed” and “The Gambler.”
