While Jameis was heading for free agency at the end of the year, it seems like Brees may have known something that the rest of us did not. Winston agreed to a one-year deal with the Saints for next season, and it appears as though Sean Payton will give him the opportunity to be his first-string quarterback.

As we said the other day, expect Jameis Winston's new deal with the #Saints to look similar to Cam Newton's incentive-laden one-year pact in New England. Winston will compete with Taysom Hill, who's under contract for one more year and a little over $12 million.

Jameis Winston will likely battle with Taysom Hill for the starting job, but given the situation, most people (myself included) expect Jameis to get a real look for the Saints next year.

Let the Jameis Winston revenge story begin! He’ll now be playing his former team, the Bucs, twice next season.

We’ll see if Jameis can make the most of his second chance in the NFL.
