Social media has plenty of jokes after it was announced that Matt Nagy was going back to Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy following his failed Bears tenure

Just like that, Matt Nagy is back with Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy in Kansas City.

After being the head coach of the Chicago Bears for the past four seasons, Nagy was fired after missing the playoffs last season. And it was announced on Friday that the Chiefs were hiring him back as a Senior Assistant/Quarterbacks Coach.

Fans immediately had jokes about Matt Nagy running right back to Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy after his failed tenure in Chicago.

At first, Matt Nagy looked like a slam dunk hire for the Chicago Bears.

In his first season (2018), Nagy won the NFC Coach of the Year Award after leading the Bears to a divisional title, before getting ousted by the Eagles in the playoffs thanks to the infamous Cody Parkey double-doink.

After that year, Nagy’s offensive struggled to take the next step with the revolving door of Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles, Andy Dalton, and Justin Fields at quarterback.

It’ll be a long road back to glory for Matt Nagy after looking relatively incompetent towards the end of his Bears tenure. But he picked the right place to get his career back on track.
