Six-Part Derek Jeter Docuseries Set To Air In 2022

The New York Yankees released a tribute video to Derek Jeter ahead of his Hall of Fame induction today in Cooperstown and fans are loving it

15 September 2014: New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter (2) in the dugout during the MLB regular season game between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg FL.

ESPN announced on their Twitter on Tuesday morning that they are set to release a six-episode Derek Jeter docuseries, which should be ready sometime in 2022.

The project will have the same producers as the highly popular “The Last Dance” documentary, and Spike Lee is also said to have a part in the Jeter series.

Derek Jeter, or better known as just “The Captain,” was one of the biggest winners in any sport in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The shortstop won five World Series Championships, accumulated over 3,000 hits, was a 14-time All-Star and eventually had his No. 2 retired by the New York Yankees.

A lot of things to look for in the Jeter doc. First off, Jeter’s dating history has a lot of celebrity names on it. He was famously known for leaving his mistresses gift baskets after they slept together. Another thing that could be interesting is the relationship Jeter had with Alex Rodriguez.

It’s no secret that Jeter didn’t like A-Rod too much when the slugger arrived in New York. I’m curious to see if the doc speaks on the dynamic between the two superstars during their time as teammates.

The Derek Jeter docuseries is bound to be intriguing. And I personally can’t wait for the release.
