Dallas Cowboys Coach Mike McCarthy Accused of Racist Watermelon Smashing

Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy accused of racist watermelon smashing by Shannon Sharpe

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy had a novel idea before his team squared up against the Minnesota Vikings. The night before the big game, he decided to motivate his team by smashing watermelons. McCarthy wielded a sledgehammer during a team meeting and several players got in on the act as well.

Watermelon may have a negative connotation, but the players involved seemed to get a kick out of it, and there have been no reports of any Dallas Cowboys players being offended. Apparently the whole thing was inspired by comedian Gallagher, who smashed watermelons as part of his act throughout the 1980s.

The Dallas Cowboys need to do anything they can in order to win.
