After a few days of heavy speculation, it is now being reported that Sean Payton has made his decision on the future of his coaching career with the Saints

New Orleans Saints star receiver Michael Thomas has been all over the news lately after a report indicated he was “ghosting” the team while rehabbing from ankle surgery.

Seemingly in response to the story, Thomas tweeted out a message.

“They tried to damage your reputation. You saved theirs by not telling your side of the story,” Thomas wrote on Twitter.

On Monday, Sean Payton spoke on the Michael Thomas situation.

“I don’t want to have a press conference based on social media,” Payton said.

The Saints are reportedly upset with the timing of Michael Thomas’s ankle surgery.

He’s been away from the team for a while now, and Payton and the Saints’ brass seems to believe that Thomas waited too long before undergoing his surgery.

“Well, look, it appears we’re gonna have to spend some time without him. It’s disappointing,” Payton said on Thomas to reporters in July via ESPN. “And we’ll work through it with the other players that are here. But the surgery took place, and obviously we would’ve liked that to happen earlier than later. And quite honestly, it should’ve.”

Whether they like it or not, the Saints will have to begin their season without their star receiver. But if the rift between Michael Thomas and Sean Payton continues, we might be seeing the beginning of the end of Thomas’s run in New Orleans.
