Sean McDermott Takes a Swipe at Bill Belichick Following Loss to Patriots

According to a former player, Robert Kraft told Bill Belichick that he better win a Super Bowl without Tom Brady after letting the QB out the door

DEC 21 2014: New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on the field prior to the game between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford,NJ.

You win some, you lose some, but when you lose, at least give credit where credit is due.

Not the case for Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott. The Bills Coach wants everyone to dial down the 2021 coronation of Bill Belichick.

Belichick led his team to a 14-10 victory despite crazy winds and only three pass attempts from Pats QB Mac Jones. It was one of the best coaching performances from Belichick’s Patriots career. And that’s a pretty long career with a lot of huge wins.

McDermott wasn’t impressed.

“Let’s not give more credit than we need to give credit to Bill Belichick in this one,” McDermott told media after the 14-10 loss, via NESN.com. “Whether it was Bill or anybody else, they beat us, right? But you sit here and you tell me when we start with an average starting field position of the 40-yard line and he starts with the 23-yard line — I’m rounding up in both cases — and we were 1 for 4 in the red zone and they were 0 for 1 in the red zone? You give me that ahead of time, I’d say I like my chances. I like my chances.

“I don’t think, with all due respect, it’s not a Bill Belichick-type thing. It’s what are you doing with the opportunities you got? What are you doing with the opportunities you got? We turned the ball over on the plus-30-something yard line. Sloppy football.

“Sloppy football. I’m very comfortable in that situation.”

Currently sitting at 7-5 on the year and falling even further behind the Patriots, it’s time for Buffalo to put up or shut up.

Belichick owns the Bills, period.
