ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt is trending for something that had nothing to do with sports.

This weekend, the longtime “Sportscenter” anchor endured a tough loss to his entire family: his dog, Otis, has passed away.

During a segment, Scott van Pelt took nearly six minutes to dedicate towards Otis and the impact he had on the lives of many in his family.

“Simply by his presence,” Van Pelt said, “he has been a joyous and loving constant every single day of our lives.”

Scott Van Pelt’s dog has been trending in the past.

When the TV personality was doing work and zoom interviews from him during the COVID lockdowns, he often had Otis in the back of his screen.

RIP to Otis, and we send out condolences to everyone in the Van Pelt family.
