The sports media giant announced Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2020, that it is cutting about 500 jobs from its global workforce and laying off approximately 300 employees. The company said the cuts are due in large part to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on its business and the “tremendous disruption in how fans consume sports.” (AP Photo/Jenny Kane, FIle)

ESPN reporter Sage Steele is under fire for some comments she made when appearing on former quarterback Jay Cutler’s new podcast, “Uncut with Jay Cutler”.

During the interview, Steele had some critical comments about ESPN basically mandating their employees to take the COVID vaccine.

In another segment, she was openly critical about the race of former president Barack Obama. Her criticism stemmed from the president saying he was an African-American because of his father, despite the fact that his dad was never actually in the public eye.

After the Stage Steele comments went viral, she was condemned by former ESPN employee Jemele Hill along with many other people on social media.

Sage Steele has yet to speak on her comments about Barack Obama.

But ESPN has made moves against politically outspoken employees in the past, so it wouldn’t come as a huge shock if she was reprimanded in some way.

For now, Sage Steele remains on programming for the network.
