Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson will face off tonight in a matchup of two NFL MVP frontrunners on Thursday Night Football. At the beginning of the season, it was looking like this was going to be Russell Wilson’s year. While he has dominated the NFL for years now, Wilson has never won the MVP award.

Enter Kyler Murray, who has been absolutely lighting it up in his sophomore season with the Arizona Cardinals. If Murray was under the radar, he is not anymore. On the season, Murray has thrown for 2,375 yards and 17 touchdowns, he has also rushed for 604 yards and 10 touchdowns. Right on pace with last year’s MVP Lamar Jackson.

Russell Wilson is no slouch, either, and has proven time and again that he is one of the most “clutch” players in NFL history. However, ESPN’s Ryan Clark thinks Kyler Murray might be the better player. Check out what he said on Get Up.

“If I’m looking at Kyler Murray right now, his trajectory is higher than Russell Wilson,” Ryan Clark says. “He probably wins an MVP before Russ does.”

Ryan Clark has had many crazy takes, but I’m not sure this is one of them. Kyler is the real deal. I can’t really think of anything Russell Wilson can do on a football field that Kyler Murray can’t.

Now, with that being said, give me Russ over Kyler any day of the week. Why? Because Russ has the clutch gene, he is the proven winner. I’m not saying Kyler isn’t, but we just don’t know yet.

Hopefully Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray can put on a show for us tonight. They are two of the very best in the NFL.
