Lakers Being Accused Of Tampering After Reports Indicate LeBron James And Anthony Davis Talked To Russell Westbrook Before The Trade

An alleged meeting between Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis two weeks ago is drawing questions of Lakers tampering from fans

January 25 2015: Cleveland Cavaliers Forward LeBron James (23) posts up Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Russell Westbrook (0) during the game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Ohio.

The Los Angeles Lakers made a big splash on Thursday when they landed Russell Westbrook to be the point guard for Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Shortly after the trade was announced, the LA Times reported that LeBron James had Westbrook and Anthony Davis over at his house a couple of weeks ago to talk about the possibility of having Russ on the Lakers.

“They talked about putting their egos aside and playing as one in their quest to bring the Lakers another NBA championship,” Turner wrote, via the Los Angeles Times. “Westbrook talked about how his only intention was winning and coming back home to Los Angeles to become a champion.”

After the reported meeting of the minds between Westbrook and the Lakers duo was reported, many fans took to social media to call out the potential for a tampering infraction.

It’s unclear at this moment if the NBA will seek to look into issues of tampering over the alleged meeting between Westbrook, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

For now, the Lakers have nothing to worry about, and a highly-skilled Big 3 heading into the season.

Will this be the year Russ cements his legacy with a championship?
