The marriage between Bradley Beal and newly acquired Russell Westbrook has yet to translate to wins for the Washington Wizards as the team fell to 0-3 against the Orlando Magic.
Westbrook owned up to his poor shooting struggles before he rested due to his back-to-back game schedule.
Westbrook is averaging 18 points, 13.5 assists and and 13 rebounds to start the season, with two triple doubles in his two starts. But he is shooting just 37% from the field, and has yet to connect on a three-pointer on any of his six attempts.
Even after the first game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Westbrook shouldered the blame. “Not good enough,” Westbrook said in the post-game presser. “Honestly, I am kind of disappointed in myself, just some mishaps and plays where I could have been better.”
Bradley Beal is continuing his torrid play of last year, scoring 33 a game alongside five rebounds and five assists. The compatibility between Westbrook and Beal seems like a working tandem with both stars filling the stat sheet.
But three games into the season, the Wizards are just one of two teams in the league at 0-3, alongside the Chicago Bulls. Just seven teams are still winless in the new season.

Davis Bertans, fresh off of signing a five-year, $80 million contract, is only averaging nine points, one assist and two rebounds while shooting 36% from the field. Bertans is averaging 20 minutes a game while netting zero starts so far.
Head coach Scott Brooks is already on the hot seat with the team’s slow start despite playoff predictions from the offseason. He currently stands as the odds-on favorite to be the first coach fired.
The Wizards will look for its first win of the season against the winless Bulls Dec. 29.
