Zuckerberg strikes again, possibly.

UFC fans and media were surprised with a bit of news regarding this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card. The card, which is headlined by a women’s strawweight fight between Mackenzie Dern and Yan Xiaonan, isn’t going to be open to fans or to the media. The UFC hasn’t given a reason yet for why fans and media won’t be allowed to be in attendance on Saturday night. UFC boss Dana White was asked about it after last night’s Tuesday Night Contender Series event, but evaded the question.

Watch Dana White do his thing below:

Apparently no one will be allowed in, including the fighters’ family and friends. The UFC held their usual pre-fight media day today and fighter Mackenzie Dern accidentally revealed why no one will be allowed to attend. She revealed that she was informed that Facebook big wig Mark Zuckerberg had bought out the entire event.

Zuckerberg supposedly bought out Saturday night’s entire event, but no one knows why.

This is the just another link between Zuckerberg and the UFC,  the last one taking place in September. Earlier in the month, he posted a video of himself training with Khai Wu before Wu fought on a card that was being televised on UFC Fight Pass.

There is no word yet on why Zuckerberg bought out the event, but there is some speculation that his plan could be bringing the card to the Metaverse.

For those still wishing to see the fight, the UFC event will still be broadcast on ESPN+ for all to enjoy.
