Roger Goodell Expects To Have Stadiums At Full Capacity In 2021

The NFL is moving forward under the assumption that fans will be back in stadiums in full force in 2021.

Commissioner Roger Goodell shared his view that fans will be back into stadiums with 100% capacity this season while speaking with reporters on Tuesday.

“All of us in the NFL want to see every one of our fans back. Football is simply not the same without fans and we expect to have full stadiums in the upcoming season, Goodell said via ESPN.

While this is pretty good news for fans everywhere, it doesn’t seem like this is really all Goodell’s call. Last year, the NFL deferred to local governments to make their own decisions on whether fans would be allowed at games or not.

In most cities, the stadiums were vacant, but a couple of teams were given the green light to allow fans in at a small percentage.

I’d imagine Roger Goodell has his ear to the ground when it comes to the COVID talk, so it should serve as positive news for NFL fans that he’s under the belief that we’ll all be back in the stadium when next season approaches.

With the vaccines ramping up, maybe we’re closer to putting this thing behind us than we feel. At least we can hope.
