The Houston Rockets have a lot of question marks for the upcoming NBA season. At the top of the list, whether superstars James Harden and Russell Westbrook will even be back, or if there will be any other roster shake-ups. The Rockets recently fired their General Manager Daryl Morey and Head Coach Mike D’antoni following a winning but ultimately unsuccessful 2019-20 campaign.

As a result, Westbrook has reportedly asked to be be traded.

Westbrook turned 32 today. Accordingly, the Rockets wished him a happy birthday, even after he asked to be moved out of Houston. James Harden does not appear to have weighed in.

Fans had some fun with the Rockets wishing Russell Westbrook a happy birthday. Importantly, a fair ration of sarcasm was lobbed at the situation.

Needless to say, there was some awkward timing to Westbrook’s birthday this year. Because of this, I do not envy the Rockets social media person who had to decide whether or not to wish Russell a happy birthday. Definitely a lose/lose situation. After his trade demand, Westbrook may end up in another uniform before his next birthday.
