Former All-Pro corner Richard Sherman opened up about his arrest over the Summer shortly after showing up to his first practice with the Buccaneers

Despite his recent legal trouble, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the decision to sign former All-Pro corner Richard Sherman to a contract this week.

This came after Sherman went public with a plea for NFL teams to give him a shot.

Richard Sherman arrived to Buccaneers practice this week and spoke on his arrest from earlier in the year – when he drunkenly showed up at his in-laws’ home and was seen on video aggressively banging on the door.

Sherman admitted that he was in need of help, and that the arrest actually might have been positive in a sense that he knew for certain that it was time to work on some mental health things.

“It led to some really positive changes – some help, some therapies, some tools that I didn’t have before — to address some things that you kind of let stack up in your mind,” Richard Sherman said. “You never have time to address them. It’s not the right moment. It’s not the right place in your life to deal with these emotions and feelings.”

Richard Sherman isn’t the first player the Buccaneers have taken off the streets following some legal issues.

The team signed Antonio brown mid-season last year, as well. And the receiver proved to be a vital part of their run to the championship.

Will history repeat itself with Richard Sherman this year?
