Retired NFL Player Antonio Brown Suspended Eight Games

Antonio Brown has been suspended for eight regular season games for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Too bad Brown already announced his retirement on July 20. You can’t get fired if you quit first! Did he know this was coming? I for one take his word and believe that he is retired, but what happens if he decides to get back in the game? If a team decides to sign Brown, he could still participate in preseason activities, would then sit out the first eight games without pay and resume playing in the ninth game of the season. Or if a team picks Brown up midseason, he’ll have to sit out his first eight games.

The Antonio Brown situation is a roller coaster ride that I want off of, I just don’t have the energy for this in 2020. Suspending a “retired” player seems a little Seinfeld-ish, maybe he should just start showing up to games ready to go like Costanza after he quit. You know Brown will have a rebuttal, and frankly I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. If the NFL even makes it to week 9 this season, it will be interesting to see if Brown will join the Seahawks, Ravens, or stays retired. Whatever happens, please just keep him off the Patriots.
