A BOSTON RED SOX fan made an incredible play during Wednesday's ALCS Game 5 when a shattered bat came flying his way in the second inning

In the second inning on Wednesday afternoon’s Game 5 between the Red Sox and Astros, Rafael Devers shattered his bat before it went flying into the stands.

Instead of ducking for cover like the other fans who were sitting near where the flying bat was headed, one fan braved up, and tried to make a play.

He was able to catch it cleanly, impressing everyone at Fenway Park along with the Fox broadcast.

That Red Sox fan will have that viral moment to point to for the rest of his life.

As for the game itself, Houston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after Yordan Alvarez sent one over the Green Monster in the second inning.

The series is currently all knotted up a two games apiece, with this game being absolutely pivotal for both team’s chances to reach the World Series.

Perhaps the Red Sox fan snagging a broken bat with one hand is a good omen for their chances to comeback in the game.
