Ray Ciccarelli Is Such A Crybaby Even Former Teammate Bayley Currey Wants Nothing To Do With Him

PREVIOUSLY: NASCAR’s Racist Ray Ciccarelli Would Rather Quit Than Drive Without Rebel Flag

Just one day after NASCAR driver Ray Ciccarelli made the decision to quit, in response to the league banning the confederate flag, former teammate Bayley Currey has decided he no longer wants to be affiliated with Team CMI Motorsports.

Currey is definitely undertaking some risk here but I must say that it’s a classy move, and I don’t blame him for wanting to do so. Ciccarelli said some pretty powerful things in a Facebook post that gave us a closer look at his character. “I don’t believe in kneeling during the Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly whatever flag they love,” he wrote. “I could care less about the Confederate Flag but there are ppl that do and it doesn’t make them a racist. All you are doing is f*cking one group to cater to another. I ain’t spend the money we are to participate in any political BS!!” The post has since been deleted.

Oof. Bad look for Ciccarelli, to say the least. We all saw how this kind of statement worked out for Drew Brees. At least Brees has built a good reputation for himself and has also been very successful in his field. Ciccarelli’s character speaks for itself, not to mention he has never won a race and has only a single top-10 finish.

I understand that people are going to be who they want to be in the comfort of their own home, but it surprises me that something like the confederate flag, that has nothing but negative implications, is still displayed so proudly in a public space like NASCAR stadiums. The league definitely made a progressive move in deciding to ban the confederate flag and I commend them for it. Having said that, Ciccarelli does have something in common with the confederacy: they both got so behind they just decided to quit. Look, I hope Ciccarelli finds success in whatever else he decides to do in life, but at this point, it’s pretty safe to say he’s no good at anything race-related.
