I’m really beginning to wonder if the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will ever play their game from last week. The game was first scheduled to happen on Thanksgiving night, then the NFL moved it to Sunday, then Tuesday, and now Wednesday. This is all after a COVID-19 outbreak in the Ravens locker room.

The game won’t even be played on Wednesday Night, either. According to Adam Schefter, the teams will be forced to play during the day on Wednesday because NBC needs to air a Christmas Tree lighting.

“Another ultimate 2020 note: the Ravens-Steelers game is kicking off Wednesday at 3:40 pm because NBC wanted and was committed to broadcasting the 88th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday night, per sources. Tree lighting trumped football,” Schefter tweeted.

This is getting absurd. Either play the game, or just cancel it. The NFL is completely at a crossroads here, and there is no end in sight.

This is what happens when you continue to push back a football game, I don’t even think you can blame NBC here. It is funny that a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony takes the time slot away from football, but what do you expect? NBC already scheduled that showing.

If my grandmother turned on the TV for the 88th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and it was just a dumb football game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens…she would be pissed off. Kudos to NBC for thinking about her.
