Quandre Diggs Joins Long List of Disgruntled Seahawks Players By Sitting Out

Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs became the latest guy this offseason to make a "statement" by sitting out of practice due to his contract

Quandre Diggs has officially become the latest Seattle Seahawks player with a problem with his contract situation.

The Seahawks have already dealt with safety Jamal Adams voicing his displeasure, along with offensive lineman Duane Brown during Training Camp.

Seattle opted to prioritize Adams, signing him to a massive new contract extension. This has left Duane Brown still upset with one year left in his deal. And now, safety Quandre Diggs has joined Brown by sitting out of Training Camp.

On Friday, coach Pete Carroll spoke on Diggs’ decision to sit out practice.

“I think he’s making a bit of a statement now,” Carroll said at a Friday press conference.

Quandre Diggs is set to make a salary of $5.95 million in 2021, the final year of his contract.

When speaking on Duane Brown, Pete Carroll had a similar sentiment, saying he was “making a statement about what he thinks needs to happen”.

It appears as though the Seattle Seahawks are stuck in a situation where they have too many quality players with upcoming expiring contracts, and not enough room to finagle within the salary cap.

Last season, Quandre Diggs recorded five interceptions to go along with 64 tackles.

The Seattle Seahawks’ defensive unit is a mere shell of when it was considered one of the most dominant units of all-time, labeled the “Legion Of Boom”.

They may not be at that level anymore, but for Seattle to remain a respectable defensive team, they’ll probably want to figure out the Quandre Diggs situation.
