PGA golfer Bill Horschel has been around the game for a long time. Therefore, he has heard his fair share of chirps on the golf course. During the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational today, Horschel missed a lengthy putt for birdie.

He heard something he didn’t like from a nearby fan, and Horschel decided to snap back.

“There’s a reason why I’m on this side of the ropes, and you’re on that side of the ropes,” Horschel said. “I think my talent level is just a touch better.”

Horschel then sent an awkward smile towards the fan as he was walking off the hole.

I think Billy Horschel is going to have to dust up on his chirps if he’s going to continue to clap back at hecklers during these events. You can tell it has been a while since Horschel has dealt with a fan yelling his way, and it showed in his response.

Nonetheless, it was nice to have see some interaction between fans and athletes. Maybe we’re getting close to society returning to a little normalcy?
