Padres Tell Fernando Tatis Jr. No More Motorcycles Following Injury Diagnosis

On Monday, some bad news was announced regarding superstar Padres shortstop, Fernando Tatis Jr.

Over the offseason, the slugger had a minor injury. But after it lingered, it was revealed that he still has a wrist fracture — and will now miss up to three months of the season.

Immediately, the consensus was that Fernando Tatis Jr. sustained his injury during a motorcycle accident in December.

On Tuesday, Fernando Tatis Jr’s new manager, Bob Melvin, declared that his days as a motorcycle rider were now over.

When speaking on his unfortunate injury on Monday, Tatis seemed to insinuate that there was more than one motorcycle accident over the offseason.

Prior to last season, Fernando Tatis Jr. inked a massive $330 million, 14-year contract with, making him one of the highest-paid players in the history of professional sports.

For now, the Padres have decided not to recoup or void the contract, because they can’t determine for certain that Tatis hurt himself during the motorcycle wreck, and don’t want to risk messing the relationship with their franchise cornerstone.

But they will tell Fernando Tatis Jr. that he cannot be driving motorcycles anymore. Probably a good decision for everyone…
