Nike Suspends Relationship With Man U’s Mason Greenwood Following Disturbing Allegations

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is in the news today for some disturbing reason.

According to police, Greenwood is currently under arrest after being accused of rape this weekend. A woman by the name of Harriet Robson posted an alleged audio recording of Mason Greenwood ordering her to have sex with him against her will.

Shortly after the news dropped, Nike announced that they were suspending their partnership with Mason Greenwood.

Nike said in a statement on Monday, “We have suspended our relationship with Mason Greenwood. We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”

A police statement indicated that Greenwood remains in custody on Monday after the extremely disturbing evidence was broadcasted over the web.

 “Detectives have been granted additional time to speak to a man in his 20s who is being held on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.

“The suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon and remains in custody.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the victim is being offered specialist support.

We remind people to avoid any commentary or sharing of images that could compromise the victim’s right to lifelong anonymity, or risk prejudicing a live investigation with active proceedings,” the statement read.

Manchester United announced that Mason Greenwood will remain away from the team for the time being.

“Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice,” the statement read. In a statement released earlier on Sunday, ManU said they were “aware of images and allegations circulating on social media,” and “will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.”
