Nick Saban Recruiting Video Leaks And Former Alabama Players Aren’t Happy

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban gave a hilariously on-brand answer when asked when he was going to start thinking out retirement

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be recruited by the great Nick Saban, well, look no further. The college football world got a taste of what it’s like in a recorded video of Saban making his pitch to a recruit. The video recently leaked on social media and has since gone viral. Some former Alabama players and staff were pretty unhappy with the recording. Check it out below.

Saban talked about what it is like to play for Alabama and refuted what others will say about why you shouldn’t go there.

“We have way more players playing in the league than anybody,” Saban says in the video. “Everybody is going to tell you in recruiting ‘don’t go to Alabama. You can play at our school before you can play there. They’ve got all these good players and you aren’t going to be able to play while you could play at our place earlier.’ I think that’s the worst stuff people can tell you … If you asked our players on our team, they’ll tell you just the opposite. They’ll tell you ‘the competition made me better.’”

It is interesting to hear Saban talk about his own program firsthand. However, some people in the Alabama organization were not happy with the leaked video. Former Alabama players took to social media to criticize the video.

“Sad truth! They not cool at all!” former Alabama offensive lineman Dallas Warmack responded

Unfortunately, this is the virtual reality that we live in. You have to imagine Nick Saban and staff aren’t too happy about this. Moreover, I wonder if it will impact whoever the recruit is who decided to record the video. If this was any other program future recruiting would probably take a hit because of something like this. However, this is Alabama we are talking about. They don’t need any help in the recruiting department and will surely bounce back.
