Nick Saban Has Tested Positive For COVID-19…Again

Nick Saban Alabama coach

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this season, however, it was a false positive. It was announced Wednesday that Saban has tested positive again and this time it is not a false result. Alabama reported that their coach is facing what they are calling “very mild symptoms”.

“This morning we received notification that Coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19. He has very mild symptoms, so this test will not be categorized as a potential false positive,” Dr. Jimmy Robinson and Jeff Allen said in Alabama’s press release. “He will follow all appropriate guidelines and isolate at home.”

As a result of his positive test and symptoms, Nick Saban will not be eligible to coach in this Saturday’s Iron Bowl game. The game will take place as scheduled, but Saban will be forced to watch from home, rather than the sideline. This year will mark the first Iron Bowl without Nick Saban since the year 2006.

Alabama is ranked no. 1 overall and will be looking for revenge against the Tigers who ousted them 48-45 in last year’s showdown. If the Crimson Tide want to get their revenge, sadly, they will have to do so without their head coach. Even without Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide is still a 24 and a half-point favorite to win the Iron Bowl. But as you all know, nothing is set in stone when it comes to a rivalry game.
