NFL Fans Slammed Refs For Crucial Non-Call On Obvious Pass Interference During Seahawks-Rams Game

An NFL ref was caught on a hot mic during the season opener seemingly making up a call on taunting, which was a point of emphasis in the offseason

Their return couldn't have come soon enough for many players, coaches and fans. The refs have always been a storyline in the NFL. But this year, it feels like that has been greatly magnified.

Now, a lot of that added flak has come from the NFL’s efforts to crack down on taunting and other personal fouls in games. But there has also been a heavy dose of the game ol’ missed calls during games, as well.

At the end of the Seahawks-Rams game last night, Seattle was driving to try to tie the game down seven points late. On forth down, Russell Wilson attempted to float a pass in to running back Deejay Dallas, and it couldn’t have been more obvious that the defender got their early when breaking up the play.

However, no flag was thrown for pass interference.

Fans swarmed social media to blast the refs over the missed pass interference call.

After the missed pass interference call, the Rams would hang on to defeat the Seahawks on Tuesday night.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll took the high road when asked about the non-call after the game.

“Those guys make these calls when they make them. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t,” Carroll said, via Pro Football Talk. “It happened quickly and it didn’t look very good on the little replay that somebody showed me. I’m not belly-aching about that call. We needed to win the game in all the other ways we could win the game.”

With the loss, Seattle will now finish the season with a losing record for the first time since Russell Wilson joined the team.
