NFL reporter Annie Agar made a poor decision to draw attention to her own Twitter by trolling Bengals corner Eli Apple.

Shortly after Agar sent her Super Bowl post to troll Apple, the veteran corner’s mom took to social media to slam the reporter for coming after her son.

“I can believe that. Word on the street is you catch a lotta balls,” Annie Apple wrote. “Mainstream media stays on that bullshit.”

After Annie Agar went viral for riling up Eli Apple and his family, some old, damning tweets from her account were dug up by Twitter users.

Annie Agar took went back to Twitter on Monday to apologize for her old posts.

“I want to apologize for the insensitive tweets from my past. They were written when I was a teenager and do not reflect who I am today. I have the utmost respect for the athletes and teams I cover. I hope you can forgive teenage me and we can get back to laughing together again,” she wrote.

Sometimes, it’s better to keep a low profile on social media. And Annie Agar found that out the hard way…
