NFL On Nickelodeon Will Be Like Nothing You Have Ever Seen

The NFL will be bringing one of the most unique experiences to viewers these playoffs. On January 10th football fans will be able to view the Wild Card games in a way they have never seen before. On Nickelodeon. Yes, Nickelodeon, the cartoon channel made for children. The NFL made the announcement last offseason shortly after deciding to expand the Wild Card round to add one extra team per conference. Finally, the Wild Card round is just weeks away and we got a snippet of what exactly that would look like. And it’s pretty bizarre.

CBS also announced Noah Eagle and Nate Burleson would be on the call alongside two Nickelodeon talents, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green and Lex Lumpkin.

This truly will be like nothing we have ever experienced in the NFL. There are many question marks about how the actual viewing experience will look, but we know it’s coming. Richard Deitsch over at The Athletic clarified that the real-time broadcast will be the same as a standard affair, but the highlight packages will be spiced up with the slime and what have you.

Rarely is there a true first in NFL broadcasting, but this is definitely one of them. At this point, I’m not sure if it will make the games more exciting or just weird, however, I know I am going to be tuned in. If only Spongebob and Patrick were the ones doing the commentating, that would be great. Nevertheless, it is going to be a unique experience. Strap your seatbelts NFL fans, this is gonna be a bumpy ride.
