Today has been a rather big news day when it comes to the Deshaun Watson sexual assault case. First, Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee held a press conference where the first accuser told her story.

Now, the NFL has finally come out with a statement on the matter.

NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy issued a press release on Tuesday.

“The allegations are deeply disturbing and we take these issues very seriously,” McCarthy said in a statement. “Immediately following news of the first allegations last month, and as has been reported, we initiated an investigation under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. We are continuing to closely monitor all developments in the matter.”

League sources also told PFT that the NFL has been in contact with Tony Buzbee, and they want to speak with the women who have accused Watson.

The chances are definitely looking slimmer and slimmer that Deshaun Watson will be playing in the NFL any time soon.
