New York Knicks Center Mitchell Robinson Sends Cryptic Message To Team In Since-Deleted Tweet

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson thinks he can be a shooter in the NBA. Even as a 7-foot tall center, Robinson wants his team to give him free reign to take some deep shots during games. After the team beat the Boston Celtics on Jan. 17, Robinson declared that he was waiting for the opportunity to become more of a scorer.

“I’m waiting on the opportunity,” Robinson said to The New York Post. “I’ll continue to play my role when it presents itself. When that time comes, I know I can shoot.”

Mitchell Robinson seems to be gettin increasingly more upset with his role in Tom Thibodeau’s offense, as he took to social media to share his frustration.

“One day they’ll let me play,” Robinson wrote before deleting the post.

Mitchell Robinson is playing over 25 minutes per night with the Knicks, so I’m not sure he’s upset with how much he’s playing. It seems like the big fella just wants to be allowed to take some more shots.

On the year Mitchell Robinson is averaging 9.1 PPG to go along with 6.9 rebounds. It gets old to keep playing at the rim, while being expected to lock down on the defensive end. Would it kill Thibs to call a play for Mitchell Robinson every once in a while?
