NBA Fans Aren’t Very Happy With Adam Silver For Forcing Sixers To Play With Seven Players Due To COVID

NBA commissioner Adam Silver lobbied for Kyrie Irving to play in home games while slamming the NYC mandate that doesn't allow for unvaccinated people to attend games

Adam Silver has had his hands full while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Between last postseason and the start to this season, Silver has had to navigate around the virus to try to keep the NBA going. All in all, I’d say he’s done a pretty good job. With that being said, Silver’s is getting blasted for how he’s dealt with the situation with the Philadelphia 76ers today.

Sixers guard Seth Curry tested positive for COVID earlier this week, which led to a bunch of players being forced to sit out due to contact tracing. After a couple other injury problems, the Sixers were left with seven available players for their game against the Nuggets today.

Still, the NBA pushed for the game to go on as scheduled.

Even Sixers head coach Doc Rivers admitted that his team should not be playing the game with only seven guys.

“I don’t think we should [play], but it’s not for me to express that,” Rivers said via ESPN. “I do worry about our player health on the floor.”

This definitely feels like a complete flop by Adam Silver and the NBA. No team should be playing with seven men, no matter what.

Adam Silver owes everybody an explanation.
