National Champion Mac Jones Had To Slide In Some DMs To Get His Name Out In High School

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones pulled off another phenomenal performance in the National Championship to cap off an outstanding year. The big junior threw for 464 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Unlike most Alabama recruits, Mac Jones really had to work to put his name on the map. Rivals writer Woody Wommack revealed an old message he received from a young Mac Jones in 2015. The high-schooler just wanted to know if he could get a profile made for him, so he could get his name out there.

“Hi 2017 The Bolles School QB here. 175 and I was wondering if you could make or know anybody who can make a rivals profile for me,” Jones wrote in a message.

Wommack then revealed that he would end up following Mac Jones back, meeting with him, and helping him get recruiting by some big-name schools.

The college recruiting season is a stressful one for kids and their families. I’m sure trying to find a way to get someone to make a Rivals profile was just one of many hoops Mac Jones had to jump through during the process. At any rate, Nick Saban would have probably found Mac Jones, one way or another. It’s not like he was a no-name, Jones was a four star recruit. Jones also flipped from Kentucky to Alabama at the last second while making his decision.

A lot went down for Mac Jones to end up in Tuscaloosa, but it seems like it was meant to be. Jones will forever be an Alabama legend forever.
