The Deshaun Watson sweepstakes continues on.

Deshaun Watson could be on the move this offseason, which would put an end to his stalemate with the Houston Texans.

According to ProFootballTalk, multiple teams are willing to make a deal to land Watson without a settlement of his 22 civil lawsuits.

During the 2021 season, there were some reports that stated Watson was almost traded to the Miami Dolphins. However, they refused to trade for Watson without a settlement.

“Teams are making plans to acquire veteran quarterbacks — officially as of March 16 and unofficially before then. For Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, his legal situation complicates any effort to work out a long-expected trade.

He faces two tracks, criminal and civil. His lawyer, Rusty Hardin, said Monday in open court that he expects the grand jury to make a decision regarding whether Watson will be charged with any crimes and the level of the charges (felony or misdemeanor) will be determined by April 1.”

Fans reacted to the report:

“Sounds to me like the Texans are trying to drum up some urgency to get this off their plate,” one fan said.

“This screams Carolina, not sure if Deshaun would waive his no trade clause for them tho,” another fan said.

“Trading for him now while these lawsuits are ongoing, might be able to get him at a discount,” a third fan said.

This has been going on long enough to know that a team wouldn’t want to risk too much to get Watson if his legal situation isn’t resolved.

Watson needs to settle all those cases if he ever wants his football career to get back on track.
