Liverpool were back to their floundering best on Saturday when they hosted Newcastle, and Mohammed Salah was visibly shaken.

Once Andre Marriner had called for time in Merseyside, a frustrated Salah stormed down the tunnel, maybe trying hard to hold back the tears.

The Egyptian had struck early on for his side as they continued the chase for Champions League qualification, but it was not to be their day.

Arsenal’s loanee Joe Willock was the antagonist; off the bench to nick a 95th minute equaliser for the Magpies. Poor Salah.

That late goal was virtually the final kick of a bonkers affair in the afternoon sunshine, and even Jurgen Klopp could not believe his eyes.

Liverpool had as many as 22 shots, but still could only settle for a point. They now trail the Premier League top four by at least four. No surprise then Salah was really fuming.
