Mo Bamba was not in a congratulatory mood after Cole Anthony was drafted to his Magic. He is ready to get to work with the youngster in Orlando.

In all seriousness, Bamba was clearly joking here. I’m sure this was his way of congratulating the UNC product Cole Anthony. Here is Anthony letting his emotions get the best of him following the news that he had been drafted by the Orlando Magic.

“This is the absolute best moment of my life,” Cole Anthony tells ESPN in his post-draft interview. He does give a little respect to the day he was born, though. Definitely another important day.

Cole Anthony will join the likes of Bamba, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fornier on an up-and-coming Orlando Magic team. The Magic actually exceeded expectations in 2020. They finished the shortened season 33-40, and earned a spot in the NBA bubble playoffs.

While the Magic may have turned some heads last season, they have a lot of work to do before they become a real contender. Mo Bamba knows that. Maybe Cole Anthony can help Bamba and the Magic reach another level.

Anthony will have to be special to live up to the hype his father, Greg Anthony, left for him. Luckily for everyone involved, it looks like Cole Anthony could be a star in the league for many years to come.
