MLB Community Reacts To The Nolan Arenado Trade

If feels like rumors of a Nolan Arenado trade have been swirling for a couple of years now. On Friday Night, it finally happened. Nolan Arenado was traded from Rockies to the St. Louis Cardinals, turning them from a mediocre team to a real contender.

The MLB world was buzzing on social media after the news dropped.

It’s no doubt that Cardinals fans are absolutely jacked up about Arenado joining their team, and they should be. He is one of the true five-tool players in all of baseball. He has won a gold glove in each of his eight season with the Rockies, to go along with jaw-dropping numbers at the plate.

Over his eight-year career, Arenado has slashed an astounding .293/.349/.541 to go along with 235 home runs and 760 RBIs.

When asked about Arenado rumors at the beginning of the offseason, Rockies manager Bud Black downplayed the situation.

“My expectation is that they’ll be with us come Opening Day,’ Black said to ESPN in December.

Nolan Arenado will not be with the Rockies on Opening Day, which begs the question, “who’s next?”.  If the Rockies want to continue with the tear-down of their roster, they would have a lot of suitors for All-Star shortstop Trevor Story.

It seems like the Rockies are entering rebuild mode, as the Cardinals continue to find ways to extend their competitive window.
