Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky just doesn’t have it. He works his tail off, seems to have the respect of his teammates, takes ownership for his failures. But at the end of the day, he just doesn’t have that “it” factor. It’s been clear ever since he was drafted in 2017, and it was clear again today.

In his end of the year press conference, Trubisky talked about how he would like to stay in Chicago because he feels he has ‘unfinished business’ there.

“I think I can definitely see myself back here next year. Obviously a lot of that is out of my control but it feels like home and it feels like we have unfinished business,” Mitchell Trubisky said.

Of course, fans mocked Mitchell Trubisky for his remark.

For a guy like Mitchell Trubisky to say he has “unfinished business” just seems wrong to me. We’ve heard the term over the years in sports, but it’s normally used in a much cooler situation. For instance, when Tim Tebow announced he was returning to Florida it was “unfinished business”. When Mitchell uses it, it just sounds dumb.

I hate to break it to you Mitch, but you’re not coming back to the Bears because you have unfinished business. You never even started the business. Sure, you’ve made the playoffs twice but it’s been under false pretenses, and the Bears offense has consistently ranked near the bottom of the league with Mitch at the helm.

It’s time for the Bears and Mitchell Trubisky to go their separate ways. Take that business elsewhere Mitch. Who knows, maybe a change of scenery will bring out the best in the guy.
