Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was under heavy speculation after the loss to the Niners in the Super Wild Card Round last weekend.

Despite Dallas having the #1 offense throughout the regular season, they sputtered down the stretch. And many fans have been calling for Jerry Jones to move off of McCarthy as their head coach.

But during a recent radio appearance, Mike McCarthy revealed that Jones has told him its “full speed ahead”.

“I’m full speed ahead,” McCarthy said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “Obviously we talked about the disappointment of the game. … We talked about everything that needed to be talked about.”

Mike McCarthy would go on to say that he understands the constant speculation about his job security.

“I think for people in this profession, it’s accepted,” McCarthy said, via Todd Archer of ESPN. “It’s part of the job. I get that. I understand why you’re asking the question. It’s part of the job. You have a job to do, and I have a job to do here today in answering your questions appropriately and respectfully. But, yeah, I don’t put a lot into it because I know personally what I put into this.”

Despite Jones telling Mike McCarthy that he’s committed to him for the long haul, you’d think that one more season of not reaching their goals, and the sentiment might be a little different from the Cowboys owner.
