NBA living legend Michael Jordan brought out the big boat to the Crystal Coast for the 2021 Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. The NBA icon and his Catch 23 crew hit the leaderboard on Day 1 by catching a 25-pound dolphinfish. Unfortunately is was the wrong species, so they had to release back into the water.
Jordan and his crew are competing for a $3.4 million purse in the top North Carolina fishing event.
The 2021 Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament held in North Carolina drew over 250 boats competing for the big cash prize.
We didn't see many blue marlins on Monday, but we got to see a GOAT as Michael Jordan's boat pulled into the weigh station on Monday. The video was captured by WNCT's Kelci O'Donnell. Catch 23 will be fishing in the 63rd annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament all this week. pic.twitter.com/KsSf1lvaT1

Jordan and his team have until Saturday to climb back onto the competition’s leaderboard.
