Michael Brockers Talked Smack About Jared Goff Prior To Getting Traded From Rams To Lions

New Detroit Lions defensive lineman Michael Brockers is going to have some explaining to do to Jared Goff.

The Lions and Rams struck a deal that sent Matthew Stafford to L.A. and Jared Goff to Detroit. At that time, Rams defensive lineman Michael Brockers was quick to deem Stafford as a much better option than Goff.

“Is [adding Stafford] a level up?” Brockers said following the QB swap, via SI.com. “In my heart, deeply, just understanding what [Stafford] brings, it’s a level up [over Goff]. It’s a level up.”

Brockers would elaborate on his Stafford>Goff take.

“I feel like just watching him over his career, seeing the comebacks that he’s had, seeing so much of the numbers that he’s had, we’re just expecting that to just do better when he comes to the Rams,” he added in a Q&A with NFL Network. “We expect that to match well with what we do. We feel like with his move, this will be the turning point to where we can just win the big game.”

Unfortunately for Michael Brockers, he spoke way too soon. Brockers will now be joining Jared Goff in Detroit after another trade between the Rams and Lions went down.

Michael Brockers just can’t escape Jared Goff.

This has to be a little awkward. I think Michael Brockers owes Jared Goff an expensive dinner in Detroit. If he can get past the fact that he won’t be playing with Matthew Stafford, that is.
